PLEASE HELP! My parents chicken has been 'clucking' for 2 days!

Hard to say what is going on in a chickens mind.. I think I would try to do more soaking but this time put your hand lightly on her back to keep her from jumping out, make it as peaceful for her as possible.

yea she seemed to really like that when I put her bottom down a little bit it relaxed her. She's still clucking but now in her sleep. Thanks Lydia!

She really does sound egg bound to me. And I bet that is not very comfortable for her. That may be the constant clucking. See if you can feel an egg in her. Feel her abdomen above the vent. If you feel the egg you then have your answer. Hopefully one hasn't broken in her. I had an egg bound hen last week, she is "ok" now, but is older and I will have to put her down this week do to other complications. Good luck with your parents hen.

Thank you. She made noise today but not as much as the past few, she stayed in her hen house most of the day. I'll have to check on her in the morning.

i think its from either an egg or maybe she saw a predator and thinks its still around. do you have dogs in the yard? are there other hens that take the nesting boxes?

From time to time there is this stray cat that walks by and there's another cat that sits on the neighbors roof. Sometimes there are chicken hawks that fly around and possums. It might be a cat but we have 4 and one of them we found in their house years ago.
