Please help need advice! Baby chick badly hurt

Spray twice a day with sterile saline, blot dry with clean towel, and coat with triple antibiotic ointment afterward. Be sure ointment does not have pain reliever in it.
I’ll have to check. Thanks everyone for all your help! Any idea on why she won’t lay down? Pretty much just keeping her eyes closed and I’m worried about her being dehydrated although she drank a few sips. She is standing tilted back almost like an egg bound hen not sure if she’s just tired.

Did you give her sugar water or electrolytes for shock? Sounds like pain and stress to me. Since she's away from her mom, you might try this, I think it was @azygous that suggested it in another case, for a chick that got wet. Run a hand towel through the dryer to warm it, and wrap the chick in it, and put it in a dark, quiet place.

Yes I gave her some sav a chick in her water. Seems fine this morning drank last night ate this morning. Enola on the other hand is very upset and looking for her little one. 😭 😭 😭

Here are some new pictures sorry they are not very good. I’m pretty sure I found the spot where she got hurt so hopefully i’ll be fixing that soon.

Was she the only chick that hatched? It is sad that she cannot be with the broody to raise, but the wounds would be pecked by her unfortunately. I had a broody who attacked her own chicks after she hatched them, and had to raise them in a brooder. With deep wounds like she has she needs to have wound care twice a day. That includes dabbing on saline or a little wound spray, and then keeping the wounds covered with plain Neosporin twice daily. Make sure it has a heat source since she doesn’t have her mom.

One important thing, make sure to seperate the chick from any other birds. The red color from the wound will intrigue the other birds, and they will peck it until they can't anymore.

She is in a rubber tote with a heat lamp, food, and water. She also has a safe stuffy to cuddle up with that she can’t eat. Mira is the only chick that Enola hatched 😞

Does it look like she got pecked by another chicken? Or do you think it’s most likely from getting caught on the wire? Also I am fixing the wire before I put anymore chicks in.

Mira can’t preen probably because it hurts and instead preens the air. Is this something I should be worried about? She keeps doing it and I’m a little worried.
