I have been looking on the internet for almost 3 days straight for the perfect coop for our needs. I think we have are set upon an A-Frame coop, but the more I look at them I think the more undecided I get

My husband just wants me to pick one and give him either blue prints or pictures of it. What will need room for 3 chickens, (but I'm thinking next year we may get more, so maybe a bit bigger). The coop needs to look nice since we are renting until we find the house we want to buy. I would also like to move the coop around every couple days. Also, will using the deep litter method then not be viable since I will be moving the coop around every few days and I only have 3?

Thank you so much for everyones help! I can't express how much I appreciate it!

You should be able to find plans on here in the coop section or in the :chicken coops" link at the top of the index page. Or get a copy of Building Chicken Coops for Dummies from the BYC Store.

I would recommend something with a bit more room up top than the a frame coops. They are cramped and really hard to ventilate without drafts in the winter.
I finally designed my own that would have the same footprint and more space up top.
Take a look at my BYC page and PM me if you have questions.

As far as deep litter, you are correct it is for larger stationary coops.

I agree with the previous poster about the limitations of A frame coops. The interior space at the top is very difficult to use as chicken housing.

Here is my A frame. I used a combination of plans from here and elsewhere to make it. The floor is 4' x 8' and what's open to the ground is 6' x 8'. I have 12 bantams in there, they have plenty of room. I have many pictures and info on plans if you are interested.

I guess I am just retarded and can't seem to find the index link of designs, but I have been going through this section slowly but surely.

Thank you again for your suggestions

Now I'm hoping my a-frame works out.

Like yours zookeeper and since mine is also for bantams I'm hopeful. May need to add on ventilation but left myself options. Mine is on my BYC page. I did really enjoy building it.
