Please help! Potential duck with bound egg!

Hi.

Thank you so much for your response!

You are welcome!

im not sure what you mean by wheat

I mean "wheat" as "whole grain form of wheat"...

if you mean scratch grains or corn I have those i mix into the food.

I had to google what you meant by "scratch grains"...
...and it looks good for your birds...!

You can feed corn to ducks, but NOT too much : eating too much corn tends to make a duck overweight, which can thus causes them some severe health issues...
(...and so, a mix of "scratch grains" and pellets would be fine, since there at least would not be "too much" corn for your ducks...!)

So it’s ok if I keep my hens and drakes together if I mix those three together?

Yes.

In case it could help you...

What is my usual feeders composed of :
• for my DUCKS :
a mix of wheat (whole grains) and duck pellets;
• for my CHICKENS : a mix of wheat (whole grains) and layer pellets.

Amount per feeder :
• WHEAT :
around 30% to 50%;
• (LAYER or DUCK) PELLETS : around 50% to 70%.

APART from the(se) usual feeders...

...I often prepare smaller (plastic) feeders too :
• some feeders with :
a mix of whole grains (similar to what you give to your ducks) and food grade Diatomaceous Earth (OR, otherwise : herbs or spice);
• some feeders with : a mix of wheat, pellets, and food grade Diatomaceous Earth (OR, otherwise : herbs or spice).

(And I generally give treats to my birds too - consisting mostly of extra eggs and fruits.)

My ducks and my chickens sleep in different shelters at night, BUT they do freerange together during the days...
And since they do : every one of them has - of course - access to every group's feeders...!

And of course, given that "a neighbour's food is always better"... : my ducks do tend to eat my chickens' food during the days... and my chickens - pigs that they are - RUN to eat my ducks' food as soon as I open their door every morning!

► Every one of my birds is healthy - EVEN my drakes and my roosters are, though they, too, do eat layer pellets AND oyster shell grit everyday...

As for calls I think it’s not unusual for them to lay this late (at least from what I know) calls aren’t really good egg layers in general I heard they only lay like approx 50-100 eggs a year.

THANK YOU for answering!!

I’ve been keeping an eye on her and she started eating a little more and her energy came back a bit

Huh...
So, your girl is at least not dying - that's good!!

but I’ll update here if there are any drastic changes!

Yes, please do!

I definitely have some learning to do and always appreciate any information/input more experienced people have!

By actually having ducks, you are going to feel like you never stop learning about them... and you are going to feel that for a long time!

Basic rule (for raising ducks) :

NEVER let your ducks have access to their food IF they don't have access to drinkable water too...
...and give them a waterer large enough so they can submerge their entire head in water, and then thus clean their nares and their eyes...!!

(If you have questions, don't hesisate to ask them - EVEN IF you think they are stupid, or whatever...!!)
