Please help. Pullet has lost a TON of weight. Coccidiosis?? Please help me save her!!

She could also be poisoned or ate a piece of glass. In this case the chances of her surviving are one in a million. The best thing you can do for her is feed her sugar water. Do NOT use refined sugar. Use the raw sugar. Raw brown sugar is the best. In the chances that it is cocci do give her medicine. This is the best you can do for her. I'm sorry to say that she will either live or die. I am pulling abird through a period of starvation too. I know it's hard. I walk in the barn everyday expecting to see her dead. She is eating and drinking on her own now but I still keep a sharp eye on her.

Thank you very much.

Should I give her sugar water and the medication as well?

Yes. If she starts eating it on her own switch to amix of whole wheat flour, corn meal and water. this means you have almost won the battle.

Now I have a question about the milk flush. Does it need water, or do you just feed them the powder?

I'm just gonna' let everyone know she is doing better. I have her in a carrier with a heatlamp and she seems to be perking up. I gave her water and egg yoke, and some corid.

Hoping for the best!

I'll keep you posted.

She is doing better today, much perkier than yesterday, but she seems to not be able to eat. I tried putting a bowl of scratch in front of her (her favorite) but it was almost as if she was blind. She heard the movement of my hand in her carrier and came to investigate, but ate nothing. I've also tried putting a bowl of organic chick feed as well, but no luck. I will be making her some scrambled eggs soon, hoping she'll eat some.

Is there anything high in protein that is a liquid? I've been force feeding egg yoke to her, but I'm afraid that won't be enough. I've heard comfrey is good, so I guess I will try puree that today.
