please help, question bare with me...

yeah shes got her coop a 6 by 8 and shes got a door that goes into an inclosed area with 6 feet high fence...and the area outside is grass and about 15 to 20 long 6 feet wide but theres just grass there and its fenced i dunno im thinking she is sterile.or have problems with her insides..i dunno...

Did she just go through a molt? Is it possible the person you got her from was wrong about her age? Does she have developed wattles?

My DSO had several of his hens go through a late molt. Then, the coop was very dark, and they didn't start laying again like he thought they should. Once he added a light in the coop so they had 14 hours of light each day, they started laying again.

IMHO - Don't cull a healthy bird until you explore all the possibilities. There is a little life at stake.

she gets more like 16- 18 hours a day...and ill take a pic asap i need to go get batteries for the cam..ok ill be back about 3pm...i have her on auto light from 4 am til sometimes 6 and some times 8 depending traffic and when i get home..but shes also out side the coop and chilling in the grass most days if there isnt snowing
..but ill be back.

I think temperature plays a part, too. Ours had more light than normal over the winter, they still didn't lay when it was really cold and now only one or two are laying. And they are all young hens, for the most part. If it gets to be spring, and warms up, that's when I'd start worrying, if she still doesn't lay. It seems you would notice some other symptoms by now if something were wrong internally.

still today no egg..thanks guys...

They're beautiful. I hope someone helps you figure this out.

I know I've seen posts on here about chickens reacting to predators you don't know about...like a bobcat comes and tries to get in the coop at night and then no eggs because they are in panic mode.

Good luck.
