Please help! Received my eggs and several cracked?

Hi friends,

I need help...yet again. I received my eggs today and several are cracked. Do they need to be 100% perfect in order to put them in the incubator?...Yes this is my first time, I am a virgin! Also, I have heard several differnt things about how long I should let them settle once receiveing them before I put them in the incubator. Please help!

You can try sealing the cracks with candle wax - it has worked for some people but depends on how severe the crack is and what other mistreatment they endured in transit.

ok, thanks. What about how long I wait before sticking them in the incubator?

I've been advised by someone here who has incubated eggs with great success for many years that letting eggs sit for 24 hours after shipping just results in old eggs. Other people swear you should let them set or rest for 12 to 24 hours after being shipped. I've done it both ways - and there really wasn't a difference in hatch rates.
