Not from me but if someone else wants it. I’m sticking with my Frank Zappa themeIs that a name suggestion?
Thanks, that's what I figured, but this is only my second time hatching/candling. I'll check the questionable ones one more time in a few days just be sure I didn't just miss them, lol.At 7 days there should be veins in all that are developing. Those that don't have veins are probably no good. The speckling is just the egg shell. I see it in different eggs here sometimes.
Definitely worth waiting another week, especially since these are purchased eggs. Thanks, that's what I figured, but this is only my second time hatching/candling. I'll check the questionable ones one more time in a few days just be sure I didn't just miss them, lol.
They were from a local seller and fairly cheap for Ayam Cemani eggs. She's new to breeding as well and offered to replace them once I mentioned it to her. I told her I'll give them a few more days before I give up on them, but I don't plan to hatch another batch.Definitely worth waiting another week, especially since these are purchased eggs.

She said once the chicks are old enough, depending on the male/female ratio she'd swap males for females.
I prefer that option to getting my money back, especially if I end up with all malesThat's very nice of her.

@redinator I agree with @oldhenlikesdogs I'm not seeing any veins in these eggs yet. But I'd go at least several more days before making any judgement. I usually go to about day 12 and then pitch the duds or bloodrings. Don't incubate duds for the entire 21 days as they will go rotten cooking in there.Definitely worth waiting another week, especially since these are purchased eggs.
