Please help! Sick duck?! *Pics Added!*

Alright, I put in a small dog bowl, for them to clean their nostrils. I sat in there with them, and held Puddles. They seems fine now (Except Puddles got too hot and started panting). Thanks for the help guys!

Ok, I don't know about the slimy stuff, but i think the shiny stuff is particles of new feathers pushing out of what will look like a plastic coating around them. these particles will fall out if the feather in touched or preened by the duck.
the vibrating thing... mine sometimes shudder when i handle them, because they want to jump up on me and be held. Seriously. that is their signal for wanting to be held. don't know if they do this when i am not around.... yours sound tame enough to give this signal also. hope that makes sense

Dont worry It happens sometimes. Probably ate too much ,too fast or had food or debris clogging them up(or ate something that didnt agree with em and yes there will be some drool. plum tuckered is right about a deep enough water dish. They look fine. ducklings shake when they are cold or nervous. Normal duck behavior. Good luck with them.

They aren' sneezing... I think she just had an upset stomach. I appreciate all of your guys' help! I have narrowed it down to, she was just scared, and that's why she was shaking.

DuckLover179,

You did good! I agree it sounds like they were in need of deep enough water to keep their little heads and sinuses cleaned out. They do need that all the time - as they grow, they'll need bigger wash buckets, so maybe keep an eye out for their next upgrade.

They are lovely little babies! Mine are just over a year old now (runners).

In fact, it's time to let my babies out for their romp.

Keep visiting - soon you'll be offering some wisdom taught to you by your ducklings!

Amiga, Thanks your post really made me feel better. I put a new water bowl in there. They were imprinted on the last one (

), so I left it in there with them, too. They are doing MUCH better! I'm going to take them outside for the day, while I work on their enclosure out there, I'll take pics!

Is there any chance they ate some worms?  When it rains our porch gets a bunch of skinny reddish pink worms on it, my chickens gobble them up normally but if the ducks see them first they'll each eat a few and then start foaming at the mouth and shake their heads ( imagine a St. Bernard dog shaking it's head and slobber flying everywhere LOL).  If not worms, is there something else they may have eaten?

I believe the "shiney stuff" you're finding on your lap is their baby down..I call it duckling dust.

Does she seem to be eating and drinking ok? No sign of obstruction ?

Why would ducks have foam when they eat worms??
