Please help tell me what to do!

This one is a boy too

For some reason I had 9 BR X welsummer all 9 hatched ( 1 was the chick in question which I didn't know wether to rescue or not )
And my welsummer chicks out of 6 only 1 hatched? Can't work out why all the others died and never hatched. They weren't dry or wet they just looked normal, just never pipped

what could have caused them to die when all the others hatched fine?
Unfortunately the little chick that was half hatched died this afternoon. His belly was full of the yolk but there was loads of blood veins. On closer inspection the yolk looked a little green. Would this have been the infection?
I did take the other one out when he was half dry, gave him a little rub down with a warm blanket and they added him to the brooder, had to corner a part off though as the others kept pecking at his feathers

not sure why?

My other query is as they are sex linked I know the boys have white dots on their head, but I'm confused as I have some with black heads, some with large white dots that practically cover the whole top of their head and then some that have the tiniest white dot, that's nothing like the others. Are these still boys?
I agree, if it was greenish there is a good chance that there was infection going on.

Could it have been because I hadn't cleared out the other shells from the hatched chicks? As they had hatched a day before?

Many people don't clear out the shells as they hatch and never have a problem. It's hard to say where or why. Could have had bacteria get in through the pores of the egg before it even started hatching. If it's just one that show this, I would chalk it up to misfortune. If there were many then I would look at the bigger picture to pinpoint the source.

Well there was some that never hatched but they didn't seem to look green , and so far my chicks look good, sleep a lot, until they see me and then chirp and jump about, and then sleep again within 10 seconds of me snuggling them

Not sure on the last three though? Boy or girl?

The last 2 look like girls to me, comparing what I can see of their combs as well as the headspots... the 1 above those 2 I am on the fence about, headspot seems girlish but looks like comb is bigger than last 2? Hard to see it well...
You did extremely well for shipped eggs, and that may explain more of why so many didn't hatch... sometimes they just quit, or could be not diverse enough genetics or poor feed, etc...

The lady I purchased them off had said she never had near 100% hatch from shipped eggs. Maybe out posting system isn't as rough as I thought lol.
That being said I have collected 36 RIR to find only 13 fertile. Which is bad , I think too many hens to roo ratio.
What is it your looking for at their comb? I'm trying looking at their feathers as I've read females have short ones in between but the boys look the same as the girls and I know they are definitely boys with the large spots!
Can I ask you to see what you think my welsummer looks like. I love these chicks, they are beautiful, shame only 1 hatched, so I hope she is a girl as I know I have plenty Roos now
