please help this poor puppy

I got a 5 month old St.Benard pup and come to find out she needs hip surgery. does anyone know a cheep good vet in my area that can help me out? she is a beautifull girl and i dont want to see her put down cuz of a hip

please please please any advice!!!

I would go looking for a local St. Bernard group or club in your area. They might know of one. Also try your local humane society. There are sometimes charity groups in your area that will help pay for part of the bill. Otherwise, just start calling vets and getting prices. How did you aquire this precious baby? Did you buy her or was she given to you. Are the parents ok. Have they been Pin Hipped. This breed as well as others are prone to Hip Dysplagia. How bad is the margin in this little girl? If she's had x-rays done, how shallow is the socket? I wish I had more that I could do for you. I sure wish I was closer to help you out. Best of luck to you.

I am sorry to hear about the pup needing surgery - how did she get hurt ?are you sure this is something that will not heal on its own given time?
I wish I could tell you were to find a cheep vet but I dont live in your area, just wanted to let you know to dont give up on the little one, after my dog was beat up by some kids down the road I was told to just put her down, but I went to two vets and found one willing to help her, found out she had a broken pelvis on both sides some head injurys and sever damage to the nerves in her front leg which now needs to be removed, but she healed and is a happy healthy member of the family and still going strong at the ripe old age of 4 years LOL.

Hi, Im sorry to hear about your pup.
What you need is a vet that will let you pay by Visa each week. They work out the total cost then they divide this by an amount each week then you sign each voucher .
My burmese was hit by a car and neeeded hip surgery.
Because he was only 6mths old I worked out that he should live for about 18 years. I looked at the expenses and found that the surgery cost was minimal compared to a few sets of car tyres that wouldnt give me the love and joy that Charlie would over the years.
I hope you can resolve this with a good outcome for both of you. I hope you can find a good vet that will help you out.
Try not to go for the cheapest, you want the best for your dog.

She must have some sort of Hip Dysplagia she walks funny i dont think it will get better on its own 2mnypets I will try what you said and prey someone will help us anyone else feel free to jump in with anything else

VCA Animal Hospitals have a Care Credit program where you do a credit/payment plan.

Call around and get estimates and always ask about payment plans. If nothing else go take out a personal loan. If you can't pay for the surgery then consider giving the animal to a rescue where they will be better able to find a home or pay for the surgery.

Less than a month after getting my "free puppy" from the paper she broke her elbow, there was absolutely no hesitation when the doctor told me what needed to be done, I just said "do it" and figured out how to pay for it later. Over $1000 later she was home with me.

A lot of vets will take Care Credit (I am currently paying off my puppy's knee). I think if you go to the Care Credit website you can search for providers in your area. You may find that driving a distance will save you money. Although it does depend on what the problem is. If she needs a hip replacement, it's worth it to pay for top notch. If it's just an FHO, most veterinary surgeons can do that.

I don't know whether it's a possibility, but how about contacting a college veterinary school if you have one near you. Maybe they could use her surgery for teaching and do it cheaper.
