PLEASE HELP URGENT!

Don't put it to sleep. I think he can make it. Keep him indoors and in his own box. Instead of wood shavings maybe put paper towels down for bedding. Would it be possible for you to post pictures?

He stopped bleeding and it want bleeding g that bad thankfully
That's great, but you will not be able to let this duck be outside because of flies if they get to the wound and lay eggs then you'll be dealing with maggots and they will kill the duckling.

Miss Lydia I'm not sure that's true. Maggots only eat dead tissue so they could actually keep it clean. The only reason i say this is because i had a raccoon attack last year and my khaki lost her left eye. I kept her inside and it swelled and got funky. I let her out and noticed maggots a few days later. Since then its been completely great! I still wouldn't let him outside because of age. And I'm not suggesting you get maggots for him either

Ok so it send like it depends on the scenario. Keep that duckling inside
I was looking for Amiga's thread about her friends duck that was attacked by a raccoon and maggots got into the wound even though they worked like the dickens to get rid of them even taking it to the vet I believe but they got so out of hand they couldn't kill them all the duck died. Hopefully she'll be on today and can give us the link.

from what it sounds like my duck had a smaller wound. This is probably why the maggots didn't kill her. And my mistake, she lost her right eye

I just have read so many horror stories on here, I go with they aren't good to get into a wound. So glad your girl made it.
