He is eating and drinking fine. Today I took a closer look at his skin and I think we might have a might issue going on here. Could this be the root of all this. I will stop the molassis ASAP. He is in the garage should I put a lamp on him? I can bring him in we have 4 dogs and no where to put him,
If you can see bugs, he needs to be dusted with something other than DE. I use poultry dust. I've read that botulism usually affects more that one bird at a time, but I'm no expert... Does he look like these? https://www.google.com/search?q=lim...wL9-oGoCA&sqi=2&ved=0CGIQsAQ&biw=1235&bih=868I have read that with botulism you should not heat the body, just isolate and stay draft free. I can see mites on his skin. I don't see any skin irritation though.
He should be in a room that's at least 70 degree f.I
Don't put a lamp on him unless tomorrow it's going to be more than 35 degrees becaus ehhhh will fluff up with feathers and if you take the lamp of of him he may die I suggest just using a 60 watt light bulb that will give him some warmth
Dusting with DE, like you said you did in your first post, does not work!I have read that with botulism you should not heat the body, just isolate and stay draft free. I can see mites on his skin. I don't see any skin irritation though.
Mites will bite people, but they aren't a true problem. Are my family and I at risk for contracting mites/ lice from him?
