Please help! What are these, and are they male or female?

My (VERY) thoughtful son dropped off 6 ducks for Father’s Day. He felt that since we were doing well with the chickens he gifted us last year, the ducks would be the same. Thank you son. 🙄

These ducks were purchased from Tractor Supply. The tag only said “ducks” and a price. They are supplied by Hoover Hatchery. We know for certain that two are male mallards. One is a female Khaki Campbell, two are Swedish Blue (sex questionable….could use help with that), and one is black, with some developing iridescent green.

Here is where we need help. I do recognize that the male:female balance is off. We have a place where we are getting more females.

In order to determine how many, I need help with identifying the black, and with the sex of the blues. It is possible both blues are female, which would be amazing!!!

Here are the pictures I have (they are not great at standing still). Please let me know if you need more.

Thank you!!!!

Yes, the black Cayuga is a male. I believe you have one of each of the Swedish blues.

One easy way to tell is that only males will have the little curly cue at the end of the tail. I can see one of the blue one's tail, and it doesn't have the curly cue. But can't see the tail of the other one. I'm just guessing it is male based on its posture.

I will see if I can get a better picture of the Swedish Blues but I am (unfortunately) assuming I have one of each. TBH, I was hoping I just had a very large female!

The Mallards could be Rouens.
Agreed the black one is a black Cayuga drake.
I think you have a pair with the blue Swedish. I think the darker head on the one indicates male.

Here is a better picture of the two. My other three males DEFINITELY have the little curl at the end. I just can’t tell with these two and don’t want to cull the wrong one.
