There you go then. His dad is an EE, which is where he gets his pea comb, and his mom is either an EE who lays brown eggs or maybe something like a Black Australorp or Black Jersey Giant, which is where his black coloring comes from.

Oh gotcha! Thanks so much for the help! How can you tell it is a male? He doesn’t have any pigment in his comb yet? Or is it a different reason?

You're welcome! Even though his comb isn't very red yet, I'm afraid it's much too large to be a pullet.
