Please HELP- Wheezing Chicken

Okay. Is there anything I can do to help her? Or just let it run it’s course? Would it be bacterial if she has any discharge or eye foam? I’ve seen some people use Tylan for respiratory issues, would that be worth a shot?

Usually the bacterial ones will cause more severe symptoms, the eye bubbles facial swelling, or nasal drainage. Tylan 50 injectable is sometimes found in feed stores, and it can be given orally 0.25 ml per pound, 3 times a day for 5 days. Tylosin the generic version, is a powder added to water 1 tsp per gallon.

How's your hen doing? I just had a necropsy on a hen that expired today. Fortunately, Avian Influenza test was negative, however from what you are describing I would be concerned for that. If she expires, I would call your stat agriculture and poultry department. Avian flu is very bad this year and spreading rapidly as per the conversation I had with our state avian vet on call. It is 100% fatal and it will kill the rest of the flock.

I really hope this isn’t the case! Of course if she doesn’t make it we will follow all precautions. She is improving though, the diffuser is seeming to really help her and her breathing isn’t as labored. She isn’t showing any of the symptoms that I’m reading about avian flu- no facial swelling, purple discoloration, diarrhea, nasal discharge, lack of coordination. The only thing she has is stridor and veryyyyy occasional sneezing. I really hope it isn’t avian flu.

Update: She’s doing sooooo much better!!! She’s completely back to herself besides being a little hoarse when she does talk. Eating, drinking, BM normal. I think the stridor was from something caught and it just lasted a long time and caused inflammation. So thankful it wasn’t any worse. Thank you @Eggcessive for your guidance!

That is great news. It usually turns out to be that way, but it can sound scary.
