My goose has been laying on two eggs. We found one dead this morning and she wanted up and off her nest. We picked up the other egg and heard peeping. We set up the incubator and within 15 minuets had the egg in there. Temp is 99.5 and humidity is 70%. So far I can vaguely hear a peep still, but I see no pips in the egg.
My question is how long can a goose peep without pipping ? I haven't a clue as to how long it's even been doing it. I also don't see a lot of rocking.
Can I assume that since I hear it that it has broken the air sac ? Thanks for any advice.

Sorry about the dead one, our goose has done the same thing.

It can take them 36 hours to hatch, it is a long time. As long as you hear it is it fine, remember they take a lot of breaks during this time so don't panic. Resist the temptation to help. Just give it time and good luck.
