If it's just umbilical it should be fine. If it's dried up you should cut it off, or else he might pull his intestines out.

Pics? Sounds like unabsorbed yolk.There was no yolk but there is a red sort of lump and its was a big red vein attached the bleeding has stopped and it seems to of dried of a bit but im still very worried about the poor little guy
