Duckling hatched out and still attached to umbilical cord at the bottom of the shell will it survive??

Just umbilical cord? No yolk?

If it's just umbilical it should be fine. If it's dried up you should cut it off, or else he might pull his intestines out.

There was no yolk but there is a red sort of lump and its was a big red vein attached the bleeding has stopped and it seems to of dried of a bit but im still very worried about the poor little guy

Now you have said that looking again i think maybe thats what has happened

Pics? Sounds like unabsorbed yolk.
