Hello,

Long story short my husband and I failed to communicate and made different chick purchases for the same time period. Mine were 15 copper marans and his were an assortment of rare breeds. On top of that he managed to hatch some mixed breeds for our freezer. That are around the same age. They were all banded upon arival or hatching but almost all of them lost their bands. What’s worse is he can’t even find the paperwork that says how many of what breed he received. I was able to ID the Ayam Cemani, 1 Icelandic, some golden appenzellers and 13 of my BCM. I decided to take things one step at a time. Can someone help me ID these chicks if you can tell the sex that’s even better but I’m mostly interested in breed. Some of our hatched chicks could be black sex linked which adds to our confusion with these. They are between 9-11 weeks old.

How old are they? some almost look like gold laced Wyandottes BUT, they have feathered legs.Brain just isn't working this late (1:15 am) Black sex link females often have gold marking around the neck, but they wouldn't have feathered feet either. I'll try harder after I get a good night's sleep.

Black sex links would not have feathered legs. French BCMs are supposed to have feathered legs--would you happen to know if your birds are French or English Marans standard?
I believe the pullet with the silver neck and the feathered feet to be a cross. Do you know if there were any feather-footed breeds in your mixed hatching eggs?
The gold and black roo with the foot feathers is a cross, I think, though I suppose he could be a BC Marans rooster with pale leakage.
The lemon and black roo with the feathered feet is almost certainly a mix--his coloration indicates a mix of silver and gold genetics, and most hatcheries and breeders don't allow that.
The last one could be a silver-laced orpington, according to the single comb. Are her (?) feet feathered at all?

1. Black Sex Link Pullet
2. BCM Pullet
3. BCM Cockerel
4. BCM Cockerel
5. BCM Cockerel
6. Wyandotte Mix Pullet

Just FYI, these birds are extremely poorly bred, worse than hatchery stock even, and do not meet breed standards at all. I would not purchase birds from whoever you purchased from again.
Sorry, I don't mean to criticize, just wanted to let you know, for future reference. :)
