Can hou also check her crop to make sure that it is emptying overnight. It looked a little big in her picture, and crop problems can cause extreme weakness. The crop should gradually fill up throughout the day, and then empty overnight. If it feels full and firm or puffy in the morning, something is wrong. Has she recently laid eggs? Does she roost on the ground?

Ill look at her crop right now. I do feel something like an egg and its fairly large. I don't think she's laid anything for the past two or three days. And normally, she doesn't roost on the ground. She just started doing that a couple days ago (Which is when I noticed something was wrong.)

Thanks for your help!

Chickens show the same symptoms for everything don't they! Have you checked her for mites? I would definitely recommend putting her in an isolated cage or area so you can keep a close eye on her sickness. Sorry I can't be of more help :(
Also, is she very old? This was how my chooks behaved when they died of old age at about 8 years old.

I would worm them, definitely. Depending on where you are in the world, you will have different products available, but I would go for a broad-spectrum wormer and treat the entire flock.

Please note that mites do not actually go onto the bird until night-time; check the coop. If there is any greyish matter around nooks and crannies, that is a sign of mites.

Good luck with your sweet hen! Keep us posted with her progress.

Last night, Lillian sadly passed away. I was holding her when she passed, and I can tell everyone she passed pretty quickly and wasn’t suffering.

R.I.P baby girl ❤️

Sorry you lost her; always sad to see one go. I take every loss as a learning experience, and next time, you will be able to identify different symptoms that much quicker. RIP to Lillian, and best of luck to you and the rest of your flock.

Very sorry for your loss. Sometimes I do a necropsy on my chickens after they die, just to look for a possible cause of death. It can really help to understand what was happening.

@Sneebsey @Eggcessive

Thank you so much for your words of comfort.

I didn’t get to check her out because it was 11:00 pm and we buried her right after she passed. She smelled sick or infected or something. I’m not sure. We’re pretty sure it’s because she was egg bound.

Thanks again :hugs
