my chicken was stuck in its egg! Was tapping for 24+ hours and wasn’t getting anywhere, so we got advised to help it out everything went ok but it is just laying in incubator with very little movement! He isn’t getting dry either! so my question is there anyway I can help it dry out so I can check it’s legs out??? Please help any advice welcome.

Have you got anything like Chick Saver? I'm presuming the incubator is still on and warm? Strange it isn't drying, I think I'd probably try to at least get it out and dry it if it really is wet, with a soft warm towel or cloth should be enough.

Ahhhhh I'm not sure what to advise with that - hopefully someone with far more experience than me will be a long to help you out. Hopefully he is just having a rest / sleep after his ordeal. Sorry my bad called it the wrong thing it is Sav-a- Chick

If you don't get any replies maybe repost your question in the emergencies area. Sorry I can't be any help. Good luck!

It sounds like he hasn't finished absorbing the yolk. What you can do is set him in the eggshell in a paper cup so that he can finish absorbing the yolk. Make sure he stays warm.

Save a chick is a brand of electrolytes and probiotics for chicks. I don't know if you have a Southern States where you are located (also Tractor Supply probably has it) but I know that they carry it. You should probably give him a little of both when he is done absorbing the yolk. Just mix it into the water (the electrolytes will turn the water orange by the way). A little apple cider vinegar will help as well. You can give him chick starter feed (maybe wet it a little to make it easier to eat) and if he has trouble with it, some plain scrambled eggs broken up into very small bits.

He's had a rough start, but I had to do an assisted hatch last year and while she was a weak one to begin with, with a little support she turned out to be a beautiful hen. Make sure he finishes that yolk and gets some good nutrition in him!

Thank u I’ll try that, I don’t have a southern states as I live in the uk but I’ll have a search and try find some from here, he has had rough start but trying to help him as much as possible he is very interactive with my other chicks who are now in the brooder x

Here are pictures that I took of my supply. Front and back.
It is great that he is doing well! You can put it in the water source that all the chicks have--maybe some don't need it but it is not a bad thing for them to have some!
