He didn’t make it. He was also not near any of those thingsCould he have gotten into a poison (rat poison, insecticide, weed killer, automotive spill) or a poisonous plant? If he does not make it, I would keep his body cool in a plastic bag, and contact the state vet for a necropsy. Each state sets different prices, but call and ask. Here is a list of all state vets:
