Hello, I recently got two baby Pekin ducklings. They have already imprinted on me and I have gotten very attached, I have grown worried over one of my new ducklings. This duckling is sneezing, occasionally panting, and throbbing his/her tail (not sure of gender yet) please, let me know if anything similar has happened to you and what I should do, thank you!

Can you post a video and answer the questions above? Are you providing deep water so they can clean their nares out with?

You will have to ask the experts and they will want to know temperature, what kind of shavings you are using, etc. my first brooded batch panted when they were too warm. Especially the Pekins
I would have to check, I believe pine shavings. I am also mixing in some other stuffing that isn’t wood, that they seem to like to lay in. They have a heating lamp on them and temperature is not to hot, to my hands at least.

Yes, the water I am using is deep enough to put their whole bill in, I will need to get a bigger waterer soon because they are growing.

I agree, tail wagging can sometimes mean they are happy. Tail bobbing, on the other hand, may mean they are having a troubled time breathing. Picture of your setup would be helpful, how often are you cleaning there bedding, have you noticed any mold inside there pen or feed?.

Their brooder needs to be big enough so they can adequately move away from the heat lamp.

Right now I am not home, so I can’t take a picture yet. The place they are staying is big enough to move, yesterday I moved the brooder I have so half is covered by the light and the other is not. I have been cleaning the cage pretty much every day, completely stripping it, it should not be moldy at all and no mold in feed. The panting has stopped, and sneezing is still occasional. Can you please explain the different between tail bobbing and wagging? I’m sorry if I sound uneducated.

Make sure they have room to get away from the lamp, sounds like they are too hot. Also tail wagging is just something all ducks do. If they are wagging their little butts, they are just happy.
I have moved half of the container out of the lamp so one half is heated and the other is not, but it is not too cold. Thank you so much for your help
