Ok, so you’re duckling can breath?
Now ALL 4 are hatching from the small end! This is the first time I’ve ever hatched eggs. I currently have 4 Cayuga duck eggs in my incubator and it’s day 28. 2 out of 4 eggs have externally pipped on the small end of the egg, and the other 2 have done nothing yet. One of them looks like it hit a vein as there is a dark ring around where it pipped, but it’s still alive. It has been this way for at least 36 hours now with no progress. My concern is that I have no idea what my humidity is (as I have nothing to measure it), but I have plenty of water in there and a wet sponge. It looks like the outer membrane is shrinking away from the shell now. I’m not sure if I should help or not. I tried putting a little coconut oil on the membrane, but should I do something else? I don’t want this little one to die.
Yes, all 4 seem to be able to breath, despite hatching from the small ends of all of their eggs.Ok, so you’re duckling can breath?
But, the first one that started hatching is approaching the 48 hour mark.Yes, all 4 seem to be able to breath, despite hatching from the small ends of all of their eggs.
That’s good! I would not do anything if they seem fine!Yes, all 4 seem to be able to breath, despite hatching from the small ends of all of their eggs.
Are they still bleeding? If not go and try to pick off some of the shell! It may take some time before they hatch!!But, the first one that started hatching is approaching the 48 hour mark.
