Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
What are you feeding your chicks? Where did you get them?
In addition to those questions.....
What is the temp in the brooder?
I had this same problem with a chick, took a few days to clear up but fine now. I assumed it was pasty butt. Keep it clean, wash it with warm water, then blow dry so chick doesn’t get chills. Rub some Vaseline on vent with a q-tip & if skin gets inflamed rub some honey on same way...the honey is so amazing and does not stay sticky. Also fed scrambled eggs With garlic & oregano morning and night. They love eggs! Also offer water with apple cider vinegar (1 tsp per qt of water). And watch your brooder temps!!! Best wishes!Hello there! I have a week old chick who is having vent issues. I've read up on pasty butt and vent gleet. He's sluggish and his pop is really runny. Can anyone tell me what this is?View attachment 2203161
