Please repost under Emergency/DiseasesMy 10 days old chick have raised air bubble near her neck. It's very soft and thin.is it a desease? Will my chick die? I have uploaded it's image.
No other symptoms.she is doing other things quite well.I can't tell you what the bubble is, but I will tell you that my Lavender Orpington chick had one just like that and we quarantined her to watch her, but it went away. We quarantined her instead of rushing her to the vet because the only symptom she had is the weird bubble. She was eating, drinking, pooping, etc., etc. Does yours have any other symptoms? I only answered to hopefully calm your nerves a little. I'm a new chicken mama too. Other answers will come very quickly.
I've been told to always quarantine them if there's any worry. They hate to be alone, though, so it can cause them stress to quarantine them by themselves. I would definitely post in the emergencies and illnesses forum because they're very fast to respond there. I will say this: my husband grew up on a farm that raised chickens. He says that when a chick is really ill, they won't do anything or expend any energy they don't have to. In other words, if the chick is running around, grooming itself, eating, drinking, pooping, etc. it's probably in pretty good shape. The bubble on my chick disappeared pretty quickly, and while she is bat crap crazy, she's a healthy little bugger. lolNo other symptoms.she is doing other things quite well.
I was worried whether this desease will spread to my other chicks or not.
