Please Help!!!

My chicken (an black jersey giant X australorp mix) got its eye pecked out "I think" and the and their is tan semitransparent bugs crawling in and out of here eye. What do I do PLEASE HELP!!!

Can you flush the eye out with a saline solution? If bugs are around the eye, it sounds like it may have been festering for some time. I would clean out the eye and apply Terramycin (which is an ophthalmic antibiotic). Keep this bird separated until completely healed or your other chickens will continue to peck this wound. A trip to the vet wouldn’t hurt - the terramycin will treat a superficial infection but if this is something that has gotten to the blood stream you may need a regular antibiotic.

Pictures would be helpful. Do the bugs look like this? If so, those are lice and you need to treat your bird with permethrin duct or spray.
