I have posted several places & have not received much feed back.
I acquired this young in’ 8/2/22. Supposedly hatched end of May. Told she was a Sapphire Gem. It’s obvious that’s not the case with feathered feet.
I am trying to narrow her breed to ensure proper care. Estimate age & recognize any issues. This is my 1st year owning chickens. I need to get her a Buddy, she is getting bullied. I have her inside for now.
ANY thoughts, advice etc is welcome

With fluffy feet and a single comb she could be a Blue Cochin.

Where did she come from? She could be some kind of mixed breed if she's not from a hatchery, a farm store, or a breeder who takes care to keep breeds pure. I have an Australorp x Cochin boy who looks very similar except for the big comb that tells me he's a boy. :)

Proper care is the same for almost all chicken breeds. Just provide normal chicken care, and the chicken in your photos should be fine.

Cornish Cross chickens grow fast and get too heavy for good health, but your chicken is not a Cornish Cross (they are always white and clean-legged, with a distinctive body shape.)

Other breeds that need special care can usually be recognized by particular physical traits (crest over the eyes so they can't see well, Silkie feathers that don't let them fly, Frizzle feathers that let wind & rain in, etc.) I don't see any such traits in the photos of your chicken.

So even if you cannot figure out exactly what breed your chicken is, there are no breed-specific reasons for it to need special care.

I have considered the mixed breed. Not from hatchery, farm store, etc. very possible shes mixed. I know I was swindled, which is sad as it is a pastors wife I bought from.

She is a very beautiful young lady. If she's a mix she's likely to be hardy and vigorous.

I'm quite a sucker for feathered feet. :D

Yesterday she was bullied sometime during a 2 hour window. She had been doing great, a bit of a loner, but active. When I went out to check water, she was in a corner, just seemed off. I picked her up and her little head had 3/4 of the feathers gone and was raw and bleeding. I took here in, cleaned the wound and put antibacterial ointment on it. Gave her water, she only drank a little. I set her ip
In crate, checked every 30-60 min and gave more water with dropper. Careful not to choke her. She became more listless through the day. My last check she was limp. I held her and comforted her, then she seized, pooped on me, and stopped breathing. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m heartbroken. She would coming running when I went out to run, loved to sit on my shoulder or cuddle under my neck. I swore I would not get attached like that, but she won my heart. May she rest peaceful in Gods kingdom.
