I think she is trying to get the chicks back into the house? How old are the chicks. If they are over 3 weeks, she may let them go early.

What I would do, is in the dark, put her and the chicks in a dark coop. Where they wake up with the option to go outside. If you are really worried about it, only put a couple of chicks with her that night. And get down there early to see how it goes.

This is one of the reasons I never separate birds, it causes more problems down the line.

Right, which is why it would be good to put them in a coop where she has the option of taking them out herself.

So I can send u a pic of the set up… they are actually in our shower. We put something over the drain and filled it up w shavings! It has actually worked very well, and they hav a decent amount of space.
