Please Help!

Please help! My Hen got attacked by my rooster and she is bloody all over so I wanted to give her a bath but I was wondering if I could use parents choice baby wash on her and if not what can I use? And if anyone has any tips on how to wash her please tell me I have never washed a chicken before. Thanks!

I think all you need to do initially is get her rinsed off so that you can see where she's bleeding from...use warmish water in the sink or a plastic tub. Once you find how severe (or not) the wounds are, you can medicate a little if you think she needs it. Do you have Blue Kote? Or some mild cream that would be soothing. Then keep her isolated for a few days to let her heal... I'm not familiar with parent's choice, but if it's just for washing, I don't think it would hurt her, but I also don't think it's needed... Good luck w/your bath! If you have help available, use two people...one to hold her firmly but gently in the sink (she can stand there), and the other to look for wounds as you're gently rubbing/washing her...

Well she is bleeding from her comb but it is all over her feathers.

I have never bathed a chicken before either, only 'spot cleaned'.... But I have done some wild bird rescue. If it is greasy material original Dawn dish detergent works. Use a few drops only in warm water, rinse well. In your case I would try something like Johnsons baby shampoo...again, just a little, soak in warm water and try to get her dry. Wrap in towel to get some of the water of. Some chickens enjoy getting blow dried gently. I don't know where you live but keep her warm until she is dry. Once she is clean you can also check the injuries better. I would keep her away from the other chickens until the wounds are healed so the others will not peck on her. She could be with the others but seperated so they can not hurt her more. Once she is healed she should be fine to go back in. If you need to isolate her maybe you could keep one of your very gentle chcikens with her so she does not get lonely. Again, makesure she does not get pecked on....injuries/blood may trigger the other chickens to peck her more

I would just use warm water the rinse w/ some proxide then tap on some antibiotic.
