My chickens are losing their feathers cause I find them in the coop in the morning but now their tail feathers on two of my hens are missing. Can someone please tell me what is happening and what I can do to fix it?

How old are they? Chickens will pull their own feathers as a part of self grooming. some fall out duing normal activities like flying around. Some fall out during and whilr the pecking order is being established. with missing tails I would say some body is picking on the other ones.. Could they moulting? keep us updated

    Marshfield, Ma.
It is normal to lose a few even a tail feather or two. but if they are all missing sounds like you might have a bully in the group. You could also check for mites as well. [IMG]

Quote:They could be in their juvenile molt. So yes, it's fine unless they really start looking bare.
