My roo is getting beat up my other chicken they are both males and both about 8 weeks old but .I don't know why this is happening it just seem like one male has a beef with the other one. Please does any one have any ideas what i can do to stop the fighting they even draw blood some times

Do they have enough room to move around? I've never had this problem with chicks this young. I hope someone has more advice

All I can think of is that hormones are surging and one wants to be top roo. It is awful early for this to happen but it's the only thing that makes sense. Is it just the two of them?

Sounds like a dominance issue you may have to separate them we have had to do that with our Rhode Island Red female has the others pulled her feathers out, we tried putting her in with our leghorns but she beat all 9 of them up so now she has her own tractor coop and is happy.

I have four all together but i think the one prob might be that o only have one female in bunch I am new at raising chickens so when i bought them I didn't know if they were boys or girls so i think I have 3 boys and 1 girl so i think i am in trouble.

If there is a girl in the mix, there will be trouble...the boys will live pretty much uneventfully but add that girl and all bets are off!

We started with two and now have about 30 and building two more coops for a few more if you have the space you can make them their own coops and give them so girls and enjoy seeing how everyone interacts. We have Reds, Leghorns, Brahms, Americana and sexlinxs not to mention the ducks and Geese
