Yeah she does look like a boy but she isnt. She is the dominant out of the 3 and I've read they take on boyish features when they take on the role of a male.

My Gertrude seems like she feels better. Her tail is up. It wasn't the other day. She has groomed and adjusted her feathers. Her wound looks better. I haven't noticed an infection so far. Been applying only triple antibiotic ointment to it 3 times a day. She ate organic probiotic yogurt for a treat. She loves it. Things are looking better today. I hope she keeps it up!

So glad to hear that...you're a great chicken mommy to take such loving care of her. I don't know what I'd do if one of mine gets injured...I'd probably freak out. Continued recovery and let us know how she fares.

Also iwiw60 , when I discovered her wound I was so afraid that I would have to put her down because it bled alot. Thankfully my emergency mode kicked in and I took control of the situation.

Update on my little gerty. Her wound is scabbed over and she is doing great! I am so happy she has healed.
