HI. I have 3 ducks and they are one year old now and still haven't started laying eggs. I am very worried. The problem I have is that my ducks live on plain floor (tiles/marble particularly) they don't have any bedding of woodshavings or anything else. They are on concrete floor because I cannot manage anything else. Is this the reason they are not laying? Your guidance will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Being only one year old now they may not have started laying due to the shorter days. That said, this is the time of year they should be starting up if they're a domesticated mallard breed. With the right diet (calcium) and anatomy (they're girls) they could start in Feb or Mar.

I have had adult ducks that stopped laying in Oct. that don't pick up until Mar.
