Please how much pedialyte for chickens

Try Apple Cider Vinegar, I use about 9 tsp per quart of cold water. Some use less some more but it has what the chicks need and it is better then processed stuff. With so young I might look for Bragg's at a nature store but if you can't find it I have heard that any work just Bragg's is more natural and has the mother. There are also a few others that are unfiltered that some say are better.

Give me a minute and I'll see if I can find a dosage. No offense to anyone, but contrary to popular belief, ACV doesn't cure everything. The electrolyte will replace needed vitamins and help rehydrate....

Have you called around? Ask about poly-visol without iron, rooster booster? Just ask the clerk if they have any electrolyte for poultry.

I'm reading Karo syrup with their water is better than sugar (causes pasty butt?), not sure about dosage, 1/4 tbs per pint of water? They didn't give real clear instructions.

I found this recipe for home made electrolyte for chickens

Mix together until all dry ingredients are dissolved:
1/2 Qt. Water
1 tsp. Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda

Not to offend as well but isn't that why you use save a chick, for the electrolytes? Everyone tells me that ACV is just a natural way to get the electrolytes, and Vinegar kills some bacteria. I don't think it cures everything but is does kill some things and is a good place to start until you get get better info or get to antibiotics.

You know, I'm not sure - I didn't think ACV had vits & minerals, but I know it likely has sugar... off the top of my head, I can't remember how vinegar is made??? I read up on it a while back.

Maybe someone with more experience will chime in for us all

That is what I was told by a few people on the forum and also the lady at the farm supply store by me who has had chickens for a while. I know at least one person on this site that uses it instead of save a chick. But if it is wrong I defiantly want to know, I am fairly new I just do a lot of research.

You might run the idea past the old timers forum?

Something just happened to my post... it fell in a hole!

As I was saying - I always try to learn something when I come here, a lot of this is new to me as well.... I'll post the question on the link you gave and we'll see what kind of wisdom they lay on us

It's funny - we go around doing things and forget why it is we do them! I would really like to know myself. It could save a life one day.

- I wish the OP would let us know details about the chicken, it might help us help them....
