Do you think those weren't all BCM's too?

I would say the really light one for sure is not a BCM. If it is, any BCM breeder with half a brain would know better than to even use that hen.​

To anyone who wants REALLY dark maran eggs, it seems from what I've gathered so far, it will be hard to find and pricey! 8/9 scale eggs would probably never be $30 with shipping. (Unless you are incredibly lucky!) Sound slike this guy was trying to scam you. I'm so sorry!!

Those eggs are not 7-8's, the chicks that hatch will probably be 5-ers.

Exactly what I was thinking, if you can find someone who truy has 8-9 colored eggs you are not going to get them for $30.​

OK--thanks for all your kind words and encouragement to talk to him. I think I will for sure now, and ask for a refund. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't overreacting due to my lack of experience. Any recommendations on anyone selling dark eggs for a reasonable price? (at least 7s?) thanks!!

crfarm has a listing on BYC right now, her eggs are very nice (as far as the picture goes). There's another listed as a 24-hour auction, that one is for 18+ eggs. I can't remember who it was, but if you look in the auction forum you'll find it. I'd offer some of mine, but I've only got 3 girls and I'm booked up for the next couple weeks
