PLEASE need Help Fast!!

All I can think of is to massage his crop. Meanwhile don't give him any food or water, so he doesn't make it worse. Is there any way to have someone help hold him (or wrap him in a towel) to see if he has an obstruction in his mouth/throat?

Just a thought, but could he have water in his lungs (inhaled water accidentally or something)?

It seems as if his crop is just really puffed out and kinda like off to one side more. When he lays down theres like a bump on the side. I am so worried!!!!
I did see down his mouth a little bit and didn't see anything but some clear slimy like saliva or ?? He keeps opening and closing his beak tho and that scares me!!

I had a chick like that, but don't recall seeing anything in the mouth/throat. I gently tried suctioning the mouth with an eye dropper. Then I gave a couple drops of olive oil and did a little bit of Gentle massage on the throat area. I thought the chick would be a goner for sure she was so weak. I kept her in a draft free quiet environment and held her as much as I could. I figured that if she were to die, at least she would be comforted by having a loving hand to hold her while she went. I do hope your chick is doing better. For me, my experience lasted about a day or two. And the chick did indeed make it through. She is just fine and as vigorous as the others. However, she recently hurt her wing and is currently enjoying house time in a warm and quiet location. I have this gut feeling she will be my accident prone girl!

Best of success and well wishes that your chick will be doing great again in no time!!!

Oh no don't have any olive oil, anything else I could try?
That might be what happened to my chick, this little one is pretty good-sized, bigger that some of the others. Maybe she was just a little piggy! I sure hope so, I am so worried about her. Thankyou so much!

What sort of cooking oils do you have? I would think a small amount of sunflower oil or maybe vegetable oil might do the trick, but I am not an expert in that area. Canola oil might also work. I think the main concept is that the oil is soothing to the throat and provides a coating to help the food slide down more easily.

This is day 2 for our chicks and this morning when I got up we had 4 with hugely swollen crops. Needless to say, I flipped out. I tried some gentle massage and withheld them from food for a bit and they are all fine. I'm a complete novice when it comes to chickens so I am so thankful for BYC and all the advice I've read on here.

He seems a little better I think. The crop puffiness has gone down quite a bit so I'm hoping that he will come around pretty soon! I'm keeping a close eye on the little one. I'm wondering if I should dip his beak in water or just let him be? I don't know.

thankyou so much for asking!
