I got them from someone local that was selling them as straight run. He had over 50 of them, and I chose 8. My friends all picked a chick to have named after them, so they all have girls names, except for Dave. He had a girls name, but he started crowing at 7 weeks old and we thought he would be the only roo. My friend decided to name him Dave after her father, who always seems to have a harem of women around him. lol.

Naming chickens things that don't make sense is always fun... I have a huge Buff Brahma rooster named Peanut (he was a packing peanut chick), and even more random than that, I have a mixed breed pullet named Hamcat. I really have absolutely no idea where I came up with that... just... I don't know.

This is a hen! Our ee(Rip) had a tail like that but was full. Compare her tail to the roos tails and see the difference. She has no hackle or sickle feathers too! If you are going to send them to the freezer keep this one, I think she is a she!
