Please don't post that chickens will lay when they're ready. I don't mean to be rude but thats not what I am looking for right now...I just would like an ideal of what age did their RIR's lay??? Thanks.

19 weeks, 3 days for the first egg.

We have 10 RIR's of 10 laying at 6 months now, and average 6-8 eggs daily, even with the days getting shorter.

The waiting is the hardest part.

My Production Reds (cross between RIR and NHR) all started at about 18 to 20 weeks.
How old are your RIRs?

Mine started at 5 months, what are you feeding them?

I feed mine on layer only 24/7. Know some who add scrach,or corn.Thats will drop egg production.
