Tim, all of my Ameraucanas lay blue eggs or greenish-blue, but definitely in the blue family. I have blue, black and splash Ameraucanas. All true Ameraucanas should lay blue eggs, no matter the plumage color.

Ameraucanas lay ONLY blue eggs. EEs can lay any color egg. Araucanas lay ONLY blue also.

I have to add, though, that if you cross a brown egglayer with a blue egglayer, the daughters will lay green eggs, like Riley does. Riley is a doll, very sweet and a good layer.

I did not know that. Thanks. I've recently posted craigs for aruacana hens cause I wanted blue eggs for my customers. I figure it may drum up more sales. Ive heard mention of yellow eggs is there such a thing. I have a hatchery Del who lays pink. They really look like they have a white coating that give them the pink look. I need more coops. Well ok if I had the money I'd have more coops.
Should I order americans from the hatchery?
