Please Post Pictures of Your Creative Nesting Boxes

I am just considering my nesting boxes now, and I was between plastic milk crates or buckets (I have both). I was wondering if the round plastic buckets avoid hens perching on the top? I beleive someone in this thread already said they needed to build a sloped roof over their milk crates. So will they perch on the buckets?

Thanks so much!

Just 2x4 frame the inside, screw a thin piece of plywood to the bottom, and made sides, keeps the chips in the box and too thin to roost on. Can be picked up and moved hen, eggs,or hen and chicks, or outside to clean out.

I use wire fencing to make a nest box, coop and runs for my gardening setup. The nest box is the small curved section facing the picture. One side door is open.

If I need to enter the coop or when I move the coop and run to another spot, the nest box detaches.

The nest box interior is made with peck resistant foam board and nesting pads. I have had chickens use these pads for over a year now and they have stayed clean. Everything eventually falls through.

Everything on the entire structure is covered and held down with wind flies.

I made a nine hole rear roll-out nest box from a Martha Stewart bookcase I bought at Home Depot!

I can collect the eggs from my brooder room without going into the coop.

That's such a good idea!
