I bought 4 pullets from TSC this year and Scruffy turned out to be a roo. When he was younger he was scruffy. I told my daughter so and the name stuck. I knew early on he was a roo. Sadly, he is going to a new home this week end. He starts crowing at 4:00am. I know a guy with a farm and 25 hens so Scruffy should be happy there.

We purchased 3 chicks that my daughter helped hatched in her 2nd grade classroom. They all ended up cockerels, but we love them. Especially the Barred Rock as he has an awesome personality. He was originally named LaShawna, after one of my daughters favorite characters on a cartoon she loves, but we finally accepted the fact that she was a he.
