looks like a nice fella.

He was such a lover! VERY protective of his all-silkie harem too, lol. The silkies didn't like to roost in the top of the coop when they were growing up, so most nights during the summer he would lay up against the run fence and all the girls would cuddle up to him for the night.

He was my free "Meyer Meal Maker" chick from Meyer Hatchery and was supposed to be a female Plymouth Rock but I guess he was mis-sexed. Oh well! At least he did get to go to a nice new home with a whole new flock of girls all to himself, rather than into a stewpot.

This is Newman. He was the best. An easy going rooster.
Took great care of the girls. He always came up to the window in the morning to visit.

So many beautiful barreds! My avatar pic is my favorite rooster to date. His name was Cookie. He was as you can see barely a silver laced Cochin produced from aGold laced Cochin and a White Cochin?! He has passed about 3 years back but I still have a Cookie in my yard and always will
