PLEASE READ young roo with snottie eye

can anyone tell me what a snottie eye may be first it was only 1 young roo now 2 have a single snottie eye please help thank you

You need to sererate then asap from the rest of the flock. Sound like they need some antibotics.

If you can, please post a pic of your chickies symptoms. It really, really helps to identify what MIGHT be the problem.

If you have more than ONE bird with this symptom, you more than likely have either a virus or a bacterial infection running through your flock. Take the advise of the last post and isolate ASAP.

It sounds like it could be eye worms, i read that it makes a puss in the eyes. It can be treated with VETRX,

sounds like pink eye,,, you REALLY need to separate them from the other birds, and is there a vet that could help you with meds.

You can try a home remedy first, we have done this with our animale, take wet coffie ground , skweez so the juice goes into the eyes, You can do this about 3 times a day, Or You could buy this VETRX for poultry. What you do is Dip a small cotten swab intp warm vetrx, Press swab right into the cleft, thats the opening inside there mouth on the roof of the inside mouth you can see the opening part, do it slowly Watch for the vetrx to come from each side of the birds beak and pus coming from the corner of each eye, Remove pus and rest your birds for a while , You may have to repeat treatment 2 0r 3 times before u see results.
The coffie grounds juice works great for pink eye, we have used it on ourselfs and the birds. It works.

hey guy and gals,
i'm not good at posting pics on here but I will try and get some and get them on ,and I did go out and clean they little eyes today and when I did that it's not like snot,it's like foamie and wipes right of with warm saline ,but I will be putting the in a little holding pen by themselves and trying some anibiotics as well .any new ideas very much welcome thanks bunches

I haven't tried the home rememdies, but I have tried the other method of putting the med. up in the roof of its mouth. Luckily I could control the rooster, by I will definity try the others next time. You can see a difference very quickly but will have to repeat a few times. My rooster is happy go lucky now.
