Please settle an argument!!

Well the coop would be 8'x8'x6'H, not sure if i want everyone together, so am a bit unsure of how i want to arrange everything. To divide or not to divide is now my question?? Oh and now he is saying, why not make the new area 4x8 but the height would only be 2'6" sloping down to 2'.

Could make a cover that size that would just lift up he says..............

well "officially" for your banties you need 2 sqft inside the coop per bird, so your 4 x 8 could hold your 13 banties (plus room for 3 more) they would need a minimum of 65 sqft of run space for the 13 banties.

for your standards you would ideally have a minimum of 4sqft per bird inside (floor space)
so for your 10 layers youd need 40 sq ft, (a 10 x 4 or 8 x 5) and 10sqft per bird min run space, so 100 sqft run (10 x 10 minimum)

an 8 x 8, no matter how tall it is wouldnt be big enough for all 13 banties and 10 standards...least according to the "rules" as theyve been explained to me.
so encorage bigger

i belive 3 ft would be the minimum height in order to give the birds enough height to comfortably roost.
