Please somebody help!

the marbles are mostly to keep the babys from drowning but i can see that.

Drowning in the small water dishes, that are used specifically for ducks and poultry?
That are less than an inch deep?
That doesn't seem even possible.. They are just big enough for a beak, not a whole head.

This what they use in the feed store I got my chicks from that sold the turkeys while they were really small..

Very true. I have had one duckling, and one turkey end up stretched out face down in tiny poultry waterers. Not sure how...it's like they go to get a drink and lean too far In and then I assume breathe in a bunch of water. Because really enough water to breathe into your lungs can drown you it doesn't have to be deep, but something with sense will get out of the tiny puddle of water.
Have never had chicken do this. But I also keep all my waterers raised now...on a cinder block or flat slab of wood. That seems to stop them from getting their whole bodies in there and freaking out.

yeah if i'm not mstaken a human adult can drown in like 2 inches of water

I've heard that but can't Imagine unless you were in a coma and someone rolled you into a puddle, or maybe you have been paralyzed or something. I mean I would get my face away from the 2 inches of water.

Ive raised many baby ducks and I have NEVER had one drown in one of those dishes.. I've never raised turkeys and never will, first time raising chicks and they seem to dip their beak long enough to take a sip and they are on their way.
I guess you learn something new everyday..:/

I always thought when I read on here that people must have done something else to their poultry when they would say they drowned in the water dish, until the baby duck took a very wet nap. It was under by broody mallard. Went out there one day and one baby duck was face down in the quart waterer so while it does seem unbelievable, it is totally true. I had already raised 14 ducks and no problem, but then that mallard. But like I said I've raised hundreds of chicks and never had one drown in the dish, but I do believe it is entirely possible
