okay hubby just came home
the dad said she the girl was no longer to be on our property, she got a spanken IM SHOCKED.
he talked with the other neighbor whos grandson was over being watched the grandson got a spanken too. he told them we are putting up electrical fencing to keep the chickens on our property so we dont have to worry about them roaming not totally true,
the electrical wire we have enough to do 7 row we were given this from a friend that had there 6 acres fenced in so i know we will have enough to cage in our 2 acres, i will be buying a roll of welded wire per month till i can fence in the entire property in. im going in morning to get the signs of the electrical fence and will post no tresspassing signs up to.

thanks for the encouragement, i dont usually lose it, but today i realized how much I DO LOVE MY BABIES..
poor things they finally started to come to me and like me

thanks everyone

I'd call CPS. Something isn't right with those neighbors. Children shouldn't act that way.

And, install a strong fence and hotwire.

Call the cops each and every time the little brats trespass. They'll find some where else to play.

If you don't nip this in the bud now, then it's going to be a looong, miserable summer.

I am really sorry to hear that' the bad news that you stuck with such a neighbors for a while, if you can afford putting just an electric fence like catel fence and put sign that it is electric and inform all the neighbors that might keep them out.
Man I am really sorry for you, thanks god your chicks still ok.

My DH installed a simple hinged lock on the coop we have that's outside the fenced part of the yard, and another lock just like it on the gate to the covered run. Ensures the neighbor kids don't get overly curious. Easy to pick up at Lowe's or Home Depot. I just have to remember to bring the key every time I go out!

Good luck!

I have a nice coop with attached fully enclosed runs. I keep them padlocked shut. The chickens are happy enough, and I figure memorizing the combination will keep my mind young and healthy.

Around here it is not just children sadly, but the "me generation" retirees that figure they are entitled to the neighborhood of their dreams (or investment portfolio profile) and don't like other people's children or pets.

I strongly suggest, strong, lockable, varmint proof (of all types) enclosures. It is expensive, but pays for itself quickly especially if you value peace of mind.

If an electric fence is on your property then there's really no reason you should be able to get in trouble. The kids would have to come on your property to touch the fence so if anything did happen because of it then it would be the parents who get in trouble for something like negligence. To be certain just hang a warning sign on the fence. Our electric tape fence came with warning signs that have a little symbol for electricity. All my fences including the solid wire ones have a strand of electric since the subdivision went in across my horse pasture. My coop has two 10" bolt locks on it that can be padlocked and I don't even live with many neighbors. The nearest neighbors are a 40acre field away at minimum and in all 3 other directions it's at least a half mile. I consider myself the edge of the country. You want to live without any fences you gotta go way farther out than you are now. If a kid can get a gun off one property, get BBs from somewhere else, and manage to get on your property all before someone notices then you're definitely close enough to people that you'll need fences to contain your animals and keep others out. Otherwise plan to be filing police reports and catching stray pets.
