What? No Easter Eggers? You need more chicks.
Agreed. At least 2 Easter Eggers are needed in every flock. Sweet little birds!

I have two pullets and a cockerel that are EE.Agreed. At least 2 Easter Eggers are needed in every flock. Sweet little birds!![]()
LOL, thanks. It is currently a question of feeding that many chickens. I need to get some customers for the eggs to help with that.Well the fact that you have THAT MANY chickens and know exactly what you have in such a diverse flock...I'd say you're the crazy chicken chicken lady who can have as many chickens as your property will hold without neglecting a single one of them. live your life![]()
Oh, I know exactly how many I have. I count them a lot. Earlier this year, I had 83 of them, but most of the male variety now either reside in the freezer or made their way into our bellies. I need to keep away from this mysterious disease. I'm an Engineer and I need my math skills, dang it.Ive only been on this site six months....but I'm telling you the people here are horrible at math. Horrible. 6 means 12, 12 means 18......they don't know! Its like there is a disease out there that only affects chicken owners. You have 59 chickens? Have you counted them recently? You need more. 59 is 95 backward which is too close to rounding up to 100 to ignore! My advise is don't count them anymore. Take a general sense of the landscape and fill in empty spots that way. Don't trust any math people give you here...they are all infected with Chicken Math Disease. I picked it up from one of them. Although I'm not sure I have it. I have to go count.
Two of my mutts are part EE. One of my Leghorns lays pretty mint green eggs and I have a pullet from her who looks like an EE so I hope she gets the colored egg gene too. She is currently 15 weeks, so I need to wait a bit and see. However, they are both really flighty and decidedly not sweet, but that is probably the leghorn in them.Agreed. I've considered this breed, but I think the EEs are funny lookin' in an interesting way.Don't listen to them about Easter eggers....they are ugly! lbvs...sorry to EE lovers just my opinion. cream legbars will give the blue eggs and are gorgeous Imo
I thought they were on the smaller side. I like how my Delawares dress out. They make nice freezer birds.Plus they dress out well if you get too many roos
No legbars are good size! they are definitely on my listLOL, thanks. It is currently a question of feeding that many chickens. I need to get some customers for the eggs to help with that.
