please tell me about spitzhauben...

i have seen many pictures of this breed and they are beautiful!!! how is their tempermant,laying,etc? i am interested in getting them. thank you!!

Spitzhaubens are wonderful.... sweet dispositions and just beautful... lovely white eggs......eggs average 240 per year........guessing~..........they hatch easily for me..... I have had great luck with hatch rates on Spitzhaubens.........they like to roost high...and will roost in trees if allowed to free range.......good foragers as well......but stand confinement well also..... I have nothing negative to say about these sweet little birds.. I love them...They are one of my favorites.........

I second everything that The Farmer's Wife said! This is Sylvia, she is the sweetest chicken ever!!!

(The only reason I had her inside is because she was attacked by a skunk and I had to get her healthy again!)

She is all better now.
