PLEASE tell me how many standard sized chicks can a silkie raise?

My silkie has been sitting on golf balls for a couple weeks. TSC is getting chicks today or tomorrow. I plan on getting some chicks and slipping them under her after dark. How many standard sized chicks can a silkie raise?

I have read that she can only hatch around 6 or 8. So I would stick with that amount... But it could be more. I have no experience, mere speculation.

I only set mine on 5-6 since the eggs are larger.

I had a banty that used to raise 15 of her own chicks quite well. A bantam's ability to warm that many standard chicks might be limited. Also at TSC they might be a few days old and not hover under her like those she hatched would, at least not at first.

If it were me, I'd probably try no more than 6-ish.
